Splunk (Cisco)

Splunk is embedded in the SOC infrastructure of multiple large Japan FSI institutions, primarily through deployments managed by NTT Data, Fujitsu, and NRI Secure. The Cisco acquisition has raised questions about product roadmap direction and support continuity among Japan FSI security teams. The installed base is significant, the migration complexity is real, and the institutional SIer relationships function as lock-in. Splunk’s AI-assisted features are interesting but constrained by the same data residency limitations that affect other cloud-dependent platforms.
