Agentic SOC

An agentic SOC is a security operations platform in which AI autonomously handles the investigation workflow: receives an alert, pulls contextual telemetry from relevant data sources, correlates evidence across environments, and produces a verdict with supporting evidence — all without waiting for a human analyst to initiate each step. This is distinct from a SIEM (which collects and alerts but does not investigate) and SOAR (which runs predefined playbooks but requires known conditions). The agentic model is the next evolutionary step. In Japan FSI, the primary deployment obstacle is data residency: most agentic SOC platforms require log data to transit cloud infrastructure that Japan FSI organisations cannot use.
